Colonic Flora and Diabetes

It is known that ancient humans had a far more diverse colonic flora (intestinal bacteria) than present day humans. Appropriate colonic flora maintains a healthy immune system, protects the bowl walls from pathogens, and produces Vitamin K - which may or may not be a clinically significant source to the body.
